This update covers key discussions, events, and milestones achieved by the Gerrit Community Managers team since our last update in January, reflecting recent activities, community initiatives, and upcoming developments. The meetings have been happening regularly every other week, and while all events and activities have been announced in due course, updates regarding the actual meetings have been quite scarce, this article aims to remediate that, so here is a recap of everything achieved in the last year.

Team Changes & Welcome Josie

The CM team has evolved again since our last update, as recently announced by Nasser. We are delighted to welcome Josie as our newest Community Manager!

Please join us in giving Josie a warm welcome to the team—we look forward to working together to support and grow the community.

Website Redesign

The long-awaited gerritcodereview.com redesign has been successfully completed and released! The site now features a cleaner, more modern look. Head over to check it out—further contributions, feedback, and improvements are always welcome.

Gerrit User Summit 2026

Organizing early for this year’s summit alongside Google has paid off immensely. The Call for Papers (CFP) has seen unprecedented engagement, attracting over 40 talk submissions so far—making this our highest number of CFP responses to date.

Finally, because of the overwhelming response, we are looking to potentially close the CFP early, in the next couple of weeks, so if you’re undecided about submitting a talk, please do so sooner rather than later. We’ll communicate about any updates to CFP closing date separately.

Community Hackathon

Gerrit Contributor Hangout

Our regular contributor hangouts continue to run smoothly and spark great conversations across the ecosystem, thanks Nasser for organasing them. They’ve proven particularly valuable for welcoming and onboarding new contributors to projects like the Gerrit MCP server.

New Logo Contest

Thanks to Luca, we have officially kicked off a New Logo contest for Gerrit! The community evaluation phase is underway, and the final outcome will be defined and shared in due course.

Spam Prevention Measures

To keep our community channels clean and usable, active discussions are ongoing regarding new permission structures to curb spam across our main sites. We will keep you updated as these controls are finalized and implemented.
